Handcrafted by Artisans

Our products are handcrafted in the USA with a focus on using American suppliers and local artisans.

Handcrafted to the highest standards, CR Laine artisans build your upholstery one at a time combining new processes and equipment with time-tested premium construction techniques.

Frame rigidity and strength comes from select hardwoods or engineered hardwoods with joints that are either double-doweled, glued, screwed, and blocked on every corner or mortise and tenon construction.

Comfortable seating begins with rows of double-coil steel springs positioned within the frame supported by a platform of poly webbing and steel bands, where applicable. Artisans then tie each coil to the frame with fine twine in eight directions. Eight-way hand-tied suspension is a heritage technique that requires exceptional skill and creates our signature "sit" that is soft, supportive, and flexible.

Seat cushions are constructed with high resiliency soy-based foam that is wrapped in fiber then encased in a soft fabric ticking which reduces abrasion and helps fabric wear longer. Loose back cushions are baffled to hold the fiber in place.

Textiles are pattern-matched aligning the design both top-to-bottom and side-to-side.
